John Thurso re-elected as MP for Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross12.15.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Fri 7th May 2010
In the small hours of this morning Liberal Democrat Business Spokesman John Thurso was re-elected as MP for Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross. With a 61% turnout in the North John received 41% of the vote with the Labour Party coming a distant second. John said "I am deeply honoured to have been re-elected as MP for our area. It has been a hard fought campaign and I would just like to thank all the people from across our constituency who have been so supportive over the last 5 weeks." "As the MP for our area I promise to keep working hard both at Westminster and here in the North to make sure our area has the strongest voice possible."
