MP Praises Emergency Services

12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Mon 8th Sep 2003

Far North MP John Thurso has praised the effective response of the emergency services following the accident today involving a tourist coach near Syre, Bettyhill.

John Thurso said:

"The skill with which all the emergency services and the local authority have responded to this accident is a tribute to their professionalism and dedicated training. I have no doubt that their prompt and effective response to the accident will have ensured that injury and discomfort were kept to a minimum. I am sure that everyone wishes those injured a speedy recovery.

It is also heartening to see how the local community has helped to look after and comfort those who have not required hospital treatment".
