BA Apologies for Omission of Wick Airport

12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Tue 26th Aug 2003

Local MP John Thurso has been told that Wick Airport will soon be back on the British Airways High Life map! The company has apologised to the MP for its omission of Wick Airport in an article which BA's inflight magazine carried last month on Ackergill Tower ("how to get there" mentioned only Inverness).

John Thurso said:

"This is excellent news. Ackergill is now attracting very considerable visitor numbers and it makes good sense to ensure that as many as possible come directly to Wick in order to further boost the local economy.

I welcome the decision which BA has taken to include the Edinburgh-Wick route in future Editions of High Life and look forward to Wick's mention in other articles which might appear on the many attractions of the North Highlands".
